International Recognition for My Newborn Photography
A Very Special Moment in My Photography Journey
Some photographs mean a little more than others, and sometimes it's wonderful to have that work recognised beyond your own studio.
I'm incredibly proud to share that my photography has received international recognition in the International Newborn Photography Contest & Awards (INPCA).
In June 2026, I was honoured to receive two contest wins, including recognition for a beautiful newborn and sibling photograph that captures everything I love about family photography.
For me, it's a lovely milestone after years of photographing newborn babies and their families throughout Auckland.
A Beautiful Moment Between Siblings
When I look at this photograph, I don't just see a newborn being held by their older brother and sister.
I see the beginning of a new relationship.
The tenderness in the way they hold their new baby. Their expressions. The care and curiosity that comes with welcoming a new little person into the family.
These are the details that make a family photograph so meaningful.
What the INPCA Judges Recognised
One of the loveliest parts of receiving this award was reading the judges' feedback about the photograph.
Their comments highlighted the emotional connection within the image, particularly the genuine expressions and the protective tenderness shown by the older siblings.
They recognised not only the artistic qualities of the photograph, but the feeling behind it.
And that means a great deal to me, because those real connections are exactly what I want to preserve.
Beautiful photographs aren't only about how a moment looks. They're about how it feels.
What Is the INPCA?
The International Newborn Photography Contest & Awards is an international photography competition featuring work in newborn, maternity, baby, children and family photography.
Photographs are evaluated by a judging panel, giving photographers the opportunity to have their work recognised internationally.
Receiving recognition in a competition dedicated to these photography genres is particularly meaningful to me because newborn and maternity photography are such important parts of my business.

Why This Recognition Means So Much to Me
I've spent more than eight years specialising in photographing newborn babies, expectant mums and families.
During that time, I've photographed so many beautiful little people, watched families grow and continued developing my photography style.
There's an enormous amount of work behind every finished newborn photograph that isn't always obvious when you first see it.
The preparation. The lighting. The careful posing. The patience. The tiny adjustments. And the editing that brings everything together.
Having that work recognised internationally is incredibly rewarding, particularly when the photograph being celebrated is one that tells such a beautiful family story.
Years of Learning & Refining
Every year, I continue developing my photography, from the way I use light and colour to how I pose and photograph newborn babies.
Awards are a lovely acknowledgement of that ongoing work and commitment.
Photographs That Mean Something
My favourite photographs aren't always the most elaborate ones.
Sometimes it's the way a sibling looks at their new baby, or the tenderness in a parent's expression, that makes a photograph unforgettable.
Part of a Bigger Story of Awards & Recognition
These INPCA awards are another special chapter in my photography journey.
Over the years, I've also been honoured with recognition through other photography competitions, including the NewGen Awards, Asia Pacific Photography Awards and IRIS Awards.
In 2025, my photography received six Global Winner honours at the NewGen Awards, alongside Gold and Silver recognition.
Looking back on these achievements reminds me how much my work has grown and how fortunate I am to do something I genuinely love.

Behind Every Award Is a Family Who Trusted Me
As proud as I am of receiving these awards, I never forget that the photographs themselves belong to someone's family story.
Before an image is entered into a competition, it begins with a family trusting me to photograph their precious new baby.
That's something I never take lightly.
Whether I'm photographing a newborn in their own Auckland home, creating wrapped portraits in my Drury studio, or capturing a family together, I want the experience to feel calm, personal and comfortable.
Your baby comes first, and I work gently around their needs.
The awards are wonderful, but the real reward is knowing these photographs will become part of a family's memories for years to come.
Every award-winning image began with a family and a moment worth remembering.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the families who have trusted me to photograph their babies over the years.
Every session has been part of my journey, and every family has given me the opportunity to keep doing what I love.
