Some newborns sleep peacefully through much of their session, while others are more alert.
Although certain traditional poses require a sleeping baby, calm awake portraits can be beautiful too.

When Should You Book Your Newborn Photographer in Auckland?
I recommend booking your newborn photography during pregnancy, ideally before your baby arrives.
For professionally posed newborn sessions, I generally aim to photograph babies between 7 and 21 days old, although the ideal timing can vary.
You can reserve your session using your expected due date, then arrange the actual photography date once your baby has arrived.
If your baby is already here, it's still worth getting in touch. My wrapped and guided lifestyle sessions may offer suitable alternatives depending on your baby's age and the style of photographs you'd love.
Booking early also gives you more time to explore the different collections and decide which experience feels right for your family.

Not every newborn sleeps throughout their session. I work with your baby's needs and can create suitable awake portraits, although some traditional poses do require sleep.
