How to Prepare for Your Newborn Photos in Auckland
Preparing for your newborn photoshoot doesn’t need to feel overwhelming. In fact, the more relaxed you are, the better your experience will be.
Here’s how to prepare for a calm, stress-free newborn photoshoot in Auckland.
Book your session early
Newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 7–21 days, when babies are still sleepy and naturally curled.
Because I take a limited number of newborn sessions each month, I recommend booking during pregnancy to secure availability around your due date.
Keep your morning relaxed
Newborn sessions are always scheduled in the morning when babies are naturally more settled.
Try to keep your morning slow and calm, there’s no need to rush.
Feeding your baby
A full baby is a settled baby.
Feeding your baby just before the session helps them feel relaxed and sleepy, allowing for a smoother experience.
What to wear
Soft, neutral tones work best for family photos.
Think whites, creams, and earthy tones. These colours keep the focus on your baby and create a timeless look.
Don’t worry about your home
For in-home sessions, your house doesn’t need to be perfect.
I only need a small space, and I’ll guide everything from there.
Trust the process
You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do.
Every session is fully guided, allowing you to relax while I gently create beautiful images.
