Do Twin Newborn Sessions Cost More?

One question I am often asked is whether twin newborn sessions cost more than a single baby newborn session.

The simple answer is no.

At Racheal Trail Photography, I do not charge extra for twin newborn sessions. Whether you are welcoming one baby or two, my newborn session pricing remains exactly the same.

Why Don’t I Charge Extra for Twins?

As a mum myself, I understand that preparing for twins comes with additional expenses. Double the nappies, double the clothing, double the equipment and often double the planning.

Because of this, I have chosen not to add an additional fee for twin newborn photography sessions.

I believe every family deserves beautiful professional photographs of their babies without worrying about extra charges simply because they have welcomed twins.

Twin Newborn Sessions Are Special

Photographing twins is always incredibly special.

There is something beautiful about capturing the unique bond that twins share from their very first days of life. From matching poses to tiny hands holding each other, these are memories that deserve to be preserved.

Many parents tell me how quickly those early newborn days pass. Before you know it, those tiny babies who once fit together perfectly in a newborn pose are crawling, walking and developing their own personalities.

Professional newborn photography allows you to freeze those precious moments forever.

Can Twins Be Photographed Together?

Absolutely.

One of my favourite parts of a twin newborn session is creating images that showcase the connection between the babies.

Depending on how settled and sleepy the twins are, we can create a variety of poses including:

• Twins wrapped together

• Twins in matching props

• Individual portraits of each baby

• Family photographs with parents and siblings

• Detail images of tiny fingers, toes and features

Every session is baby-led and tailored to suit your babies.

When Should Twin Newborn Photos Be Taken?

Just like single newborn sessions, twin newborn sessions are best photographed within the first few weeks after birth.

For posed newborn photography, I generally recommend booking your session when babies are between 7 and 21 days old.

However, twins sometimes arrive earlier than expected, and that’s completely fine.

If your babies spend time in hospital or need a little longer before their session, we can discuss the best timing for your family.

In-Home or Studio Twin Newborn Sessions

Twin newborn sessions can be photographed either in my studio or in the comfort of your own home.

For in-home newborn sessions, I bring a selection of wraps, blankets and props so you can enjoy a professional newborn photography experience without needing to leave the house.

Many twin parents love this option as it removes the stress of packing and travelling with two newborn babies.
